Your food intolerance isn’t the problem

What if I told you, you aren’t sensitive or intolerant to food…

That’s right.

It is common for people to experience food sensitivities and intolerances; it happens in children and adults. The thing is, unless you have a true allergy, the issue is not the food. The issue is your gut health.

You are not intolerant or sensitive to certain foods; your gut is inflamed and cannot handle them.

Your gut can become inflamed from a whole host of reasons, some including:

  • Stress

  • High alcohol intake

  • Eating a lot of highly processed foods

  • Sometimes we can pick up a little critter (aka parasite) that throws out the balance of your whole gut ecosystem

  • Eating foods sprayed with chemicals

  • Some medications

  • Antibiotic use

  • Following a bought of gastro or traveller’s diarrhoea

The good thing is, that there is a lot you can do about it. Gut healing isn’t dissimilar to having a scar on your skin; for it to heal, you need to give it the right remedy and environment to heal. And it will.

My favourite supplements to do this are glutamine, zinc carnosine, lactoferrin, aloe vera, licorice and others. But it does depend on what you have going on specifically.

If you have been having ongoing gut issues for some time, considering a Comprehensive Microbiome Test is beneficial. It tells you everything from your enzyme levels, it checks for parasites and shows you what good and bad bacteria you have… because we all have some bad bacteria. The ultimate goal is having more good bacteria than bad.

So if you’re reading this and thinking your gut need some attention, let’s chat! You are not stuck feeling bloaty, gassy and uncomfortable.

With love,
xo Ell
